Black Cats
Black cats and
black & white cats often get overlooked in
favour of ‘prettier’ colours
Give a black & white cat or a black cat a
chance!
Shrinking Violets
Nervous cats
often too get overlooked, yet they can be the
most loyal pets given time. Earning their love
and trust can be very rewarding.
Indoor Cats
Want a cat, but
live in a flat? Some cats can be better suited
to the indoor life: cats with FIV, deaf cats,
blind cats, very nervous or elderly cats, or
simply cats that have previously been used to
living indoors. |

Jackson
Jackson
was a stray in North London, he had an eye
injury, was un neutered and full of wounds from
fighting.
Sadly, his eye showed complete loss of sight and
infection so an eye enucleation (eye removal)
was needed. He also needed a big dental. This
poor wee boy must have been so frustrated with
pain in his eye and mouth and his testosterone
to fight for survival of getting food and
finding females. He clearly needed a blood test
to check if he had FIV and or FELV with his
history life and presentation of scars. Sadly he
came back positive to FIV.
The good news is we would never PTS an FIV cat
even with eye and dental problems and
unfriendly. They all deserve a chance regardless
at Orpington Cat Rescue. So his procedures went
ahead.
Firstly, his eye had to be infection free with
eye ointment administered twice daily. He was
neutered then a week later he had his eye
enucleation. Once that all healed well then we
pursued getting his Dental done. Whilst his
enucleation was being performed the vets
diagnosed Jackson with pododermatitis to his
pads which we are monitoring, no treatment has
been needed yet even after few months in our
care he has been fine.
We are looking for an indoor home due to him
having pododermatitis to his pads that need to
be kept relatively clean from outside debris.
His vulnerability having one eye and FIV.
He can be a nipper especially when food is
involved. He is a lovely character and just
needs someone who understands slightly
temperamental cats and given time we are sure
his behaviour in a home environment will make
all the difference to his behaviour.
Could that be you.

Pree (Princess)
INDOOR HOME ONLY
Pree
is looking for her forever new home. Pree came
to us with her litter of kittens awhile back and
she was then placed in a long-term foster home
due to being semi feral and being couped up in
the cattery was no life for her. Unfortunately,
she is lonely and needing a furry companion.
Pree is semi feral very nervous certainly not
aggressive and at the vets she displays
submissive behaviour where she can be cuddled.
Do you have a placid cat who would bond with
Pree. She needs to be confined to one room
initially and introduced slowly to the existing
resident cat you have. This will also encourage
socialising Pree with her new owners. She is a
gentle girl for sure. This type of behaviour is
just becaus e
she was never socialised as a kitten into
adolescence and so its always a work in progress
often not months but years. Its about Pree's
needs and your existing cat. Not the owners its
about giving her a life of stability, safety and
another furry companion. Pree is young
approximately 4 years old. Could you offer Pree
what she needs.
We would be forever grateful even if you cannot
offer her a home but to share and spread the
word as not everyone is on fb or has access to
the Internet.

Twinkle Toes
Meet
Twinkle Toes approximately 8 years old, a sweet
girl, friendly, loves to purr but shy. She was
being fed for many years as a stray. Sadly,
having a few litters over the years. The feeders
decided they couldn't take care of her anymore
so that's when we received the call. We
immediately said yes as at 8 years old we
certainly didn't want her having any more
kittens! She has now been vet checked, spayed,
vaccinated, chipped, Wormed and de-flead.
No more babies and being a mum she can now have
the next chapter in her life all about her and
lots of one to one attention.
All ready to go to a quiet home and no other
pets.
She really is a sweet, friendly natured little
cat and would make a lovely companion.

Gizmo
Meet
this gorgeous boy such a friendly chap and loves
attention.
Such a sweet boy and confident. All black
approximately 8 years old.
We received a call from a lady who had recently
moved into a house. Little did they know there
was already a resident cat that had been left
behind by the previous owners. Unfortunately,
she couldn't keep him due to a family member
having severe allergies. The cat had been
constantly trying to get in the house for 3
days. She never once fed him or encourage him to
stay around. After making enquiries with
neighbours the lady decided to call a local
charity which was us
Orpington Cat Rescue. We went to scan the cat
that evening on our way to the vets with another
cat for treatment as she had no cat carrier to
get him to vets herself. The chip details
revealed the current address but none of the
telephone numbers connected. So, it was decided
to contact the owners via the estate agent. The
owners proceeded to explain that it was owned by
the son and he didn't realise he chipped the
cat. There were other personal reasons but still
didn't explain why after feeding a cat for 6 +
years would be just left behind to fend for
himself. If you feed a cat for that long give
them shelter and chip them you are then
officially the owner. They agreed to sign him
over. Gizmo is now safe in foster care. Thank
goodness the new owners of the house clearly saw
this cat was needing help and loved cats and
didn't deter him away. He must have been so
hungry as when he was given food, he absolutely
scoffed it down in no time. We can only assume
he hadn’t eaten in 3 days. Poor wee boy.
Gizmo has been vet checked, fully vaccinated,
wormed, de-flead and neutered And ready for
rehoming.
Please call 07799 264510 he really is a smashing
boy. |
Luna
Senior in years,
no medical conditions or issues, ready to go to
a new home.
Meet
the gorgeous Luna, Luna has a bit of a story she
was first alerted to us by a kind man who lived
a few doors away from where Luna lived. Sadly,
she wasn't being taken cared for due to the
owner's addiction habits. We were full and we
offered treatment for Luna to help and the kind
man offered a permanent home for Luna as she was
constantly left to her own devices in all
weathers, day and night. Few years on sadly Luna
new owners were now moving overseas due to work
commitments and a better opportunity for his
young family. He isn't abandoning Luna he is
very concerned for her welfare and at aged 15 he
wanted Luna to have her last few years in a home
something he couldn't give anymore. We could of
declined and like many could be critical but we
have to remember in Luna's desperate time of
need a few years ago he was there for Luna and
has been ever since.
As
Luna was still chipped to Orpington Cat Rescue
also part of our adoption agreement is we will
always take them back regardless of reasons. So
here we are now looking for loving home for Luna
at a senior age of 15. Luna has had a full blood
profile completed with no signs of any medical
conditions we would often see in a cat Luna's
age, fully vet checked, fully vaccinated, wormed
and de flea, obviously neutered and had a full
dental. She is now ready for her new chapter in
a home with no other pets and a quiet home so
she can settle quickly. She is friendly and
loves affection.

healthy cat, please get in touch

Bo Bo
THE MOST
AFFECTIONATE BOY, ADORES COMPANY AND A FUSS, A
REAL SWEET NATURED CAT.
We
took Bo Bo in before Christmas he had been
bullied and was very stressed in his home by 4
other cats the owners had tried desperately to
make things work but sadly the only option was
to rehome him he had very bad skin condition
lack of fur, sores and infection on his body and
ears and after many weeks and months of high
dose of steroids, several courses of
antibiotics, adjustments in medication and
allergy food trials. His skin, ears, eye, sores,
irritation and fur has healed we are finally now
at a stage where Bo Bo is ready to find his
forever new home. He will need to continue to
stay on low dose steroids 1 tablet a day which
he takes in his
food
no problem not even crushed and also on a mix of
allergy dietary food which again he loves and
eats no problem.
And keep on top of his flea treatment regime.
So he really is an easy cat even though he
has
this medical condition and needs.
He needs to be an ONLY CAT, NO OTHER PETS in a
calm environment.
Bo Bo would make a lovely companion and friend
and will love you unconditionally.
He can be a full adoption or we are happy to
support in full the new owners with veterinary
costs. But you would need to use our vets we
have accounts with.
Please open your home and heart to this
beautiful boy he really is a little star.
